He began doing avalanche talks in 1976 and helped start the Alaska Avalanche School (AAS) in 1978. He was a regular instructor for AAS workshops and had the opportunity to study with the best North American avalanche specialists. He is currently the director of the non-profit Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center and is the only consulting avalanche specialist in Southeast Alaska. He has been affectionately nicknamed, Bill Glude “The-Avy-Dude” by friends and peers. Bill’s email address: snownerd@mac.com
Christian Racich used to live in Juneau, Alaska, but has moved on to points South. Since he doesn’t stay in touch, we can’t tell you how to contact him. Good luck!

Brad Hartman has lived in Alaska most of his life and has been snowboarding most of that time. He’s been interested in photography since high school. Taken pictures for Reality Snowboards and Soup Kitchen and Poseidon Board Sports. Lives out on North Douglas because it’s close to the ski area, so he can ride as much as possible. His job at Glacier Gardens (greenhouse manager) offers flexible winter hours so he doesn’t have to miss any powder days. Brad wants to keep taking photos of snowboarding because it lets him do the two things he loves the best.
